Small Business Innovation Research Program Provides Seed Funding for R&D
Leawood Kansas, October 1, 2020 – ROBOPATH, LLC has been awarded a National Science Foundation (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant for $225,000 to conduct research and development (R&D) work on robotics and AI for the Pathology industry.
RoboPath LLC was founded in 2019 with the goal to significantly improve efficiencies in pathology laboratories and improve patient safety. As a result, RoboPath has successfully created and patented a Robotic Archival and Retrieval System (RARS). Past innovations have focused on improvements in specimen collection, automation of sample processing and transmission of pathology information to electronic medical record systems, but NOT archiving and retrieval of specimens.
